The Monfort Conservation Park, or MCPark, is a 24 hectare property privately owned by the Monfort Family of Davao City. Upon completion, MCPark will be a tranquil eco/educational-resort.

It is here where you will find the 5 bat caves that make up the Bat Sanctuary. The Monfort family has kindly donated space for the Bat Research and Conservation Center, in efforts to further understand bats and their importance to the ecosystem.

MCPark is currently under Phase I Development. By mid-2006, the Bat Research and Conservation Center will be finished, complete with a viewing deck for observing the bats. During development, strict guidelines are being implemented in an effort to protect the bats and their habitat.

Currently, MCPark is abundant with coconut trees, like most of Samal Island. Here, one will also find:

  • mango trees
  • rambutan trees
  • butterfly sanctuary
  • beachfront camping grounds
  • cottages

The Monfort Conservation park is only 30 minutes away from Davao City. Samal Island can be reached by boat or barge.
